Hi, I have been vrowsing on here for a while and thought I should post a few pictures of our tattoos.
I have one of my 2 dogs collars who we sadly lost 3years ago and just one year ago. I also have a poppy design on my other arm, which started as a single poppy but looked a little bit lost, so I had some background poppies alongside it.
My husband Karl has `The Scream`, by Edvard Munch on one arm, you may recognise the painting? On the other he has a symbol reading Serenity.
I have just started a back piece which will post in another thread.
Hope the pictures uploaded okay!

Thanks, I have had them a few months now. Our artist uses a little extra ink with the knowledge they will slightly fade.
I think you have to have a lot of trust in these people, lol!

I love the dog collars tattoo, would never have thought of something like that to remind me of my dog!
I want my old dog's head done between my shoulders so her ears sit on my shoulder blades. Don't know if it will be a bit much as she was jet black! I also want 2 paw prints with eyes and a nose in the pads for the two dogs I have just now. (I can keep wanting, money won't allow me)

It`s amazing how comforting that tattoo is to have. Our labrador was black, but he always wore that red collar with stud paw prints in it, and our rotweiler/german shepherd had a black collar. I took their collars in so he could get the exact ones.
If you notice, on the red one, there is more length of collar left after the fastening because it was big on him and he even got that right!
I think your tattoo is a lovely idea, the only thing is that someone took an actual paw print of their dog in and wanted that tattooing and our artist said it wouldn`t work, but of you are planning detail in yours it will obviously be much more effective.
Hope one day you get it done. With shading jet black can work, our artist has done a few dog portraits and they are really good, he even did a dog with one eye bless!!

Hey i went through the pictures of tat designs on your back. Frankly speaking i did not like it. It is too elaborate and does not look pleasing.

In your opinion. What`s not pleasing about it?

I have to disagree how can art be too elaborate??
That is the point of art - to please the eye with detail so that each time you look at it you find something new that makes the picture look fresh.
I do not buy the minimalist art argument - it is utter crap and frankly a few lines slapped down on a canvas is just that a few lines - not serious art.
When I see a tattoo I want the art to jump off the skin and grab my senses - otherwise why bother going through the pain of it for something medicore.

Thanks, that`s exactly how I feel.
Art is in the eye of the beholder, but whether you personally like it or not does not dictate whether it is `good` or not.
This is my indulgence piece, it`s my entire back, quite a large area to fill so it doesn`t want to be plain. I am just the canvas, i have great belief in my tattoo artist and a high level of understanding and trust. I tell him what I want and he advises me of the most effective way to put that across.
He is so booked up he is not taking on new people, and for his current clients the waiting list is after christmas, so obviously I am not the only one who feels this way.

Choices always differ. so is it in this case. i somehow like colorful and simple tattoo designs. I also like tats with words of expression.Anyways that my preference and you have full right to differ from it.

Women tattoos were at one point in history thought of as a bad thing and were not accepted in the circles of society in those days.

Tattoos have always been thought of for men and there were also many negative related aspects to them.

However all this has changed over the last few years and they are now looked upon as a way of expressing ones self and as a fashion statement.

Tattoos among women have grown to become socially accepted and there are a growing count of celebrity women who are freely getting covered in visible tattoos.

Who are not the right criticism anyone, everyone has the right to choose their own preferences, this is not LanYan, shall not be infringed other people, although I don't tattoo ourselves.. But I personally think, tattoo is a characteristic beauty is also a kind of be fond of if you understand how to display its beauty or a large contingent of interest in each different so everyone differ, but as long as the things appear and it is representative of the place of good or it wouldn't be someone like and which I know like the tattoo or a unknown oh completely can't budget how many people like it. That it has its appeal good side, it is not a good man not tattoo tattoo sometimes is also a kind of attitude, instead of people can not language attitude.
