are tattoos tatty or tasteful? click for the sun link (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/mysun/article2227189.ece)

this is what i replied with

i feel quite strongly about this subject as i myself have many tattoos - to be quite frank it doesnt matter what anybody thinks as long as the person getting the tattoo likes it and realises they will have it for the rest of their lives.

i can't stand people who say "oh tattoos on women are ugly" so tattoos on men are not? that's a little sexist to me, and if you dont like tattoos thats fine, but saying they are ugly is completely another thing!

i may not like amy winehouse' tattoos but she does and thats all that matters - we get tattooed for different reasons and if we all had the same reason or the same ideas etc it would soon get very boring and same-ey.

i would like to point out however, that i cannot stand cheryl cole's hand tattoo for one simple reason, if is re drawn on by a make up artist before every appearance. hand tattoos fade extremely fast because of the wear and tear they come into contact with!

i also started a thread in the sun forums if anyone wants to join clicky (http://www.thesun.co.uk/discussions/posts/list/0/tattoos:_tatty_or_tasteful~63~-158228.page#3128305)

Hi Deadly

To be honest when I saw who was pushing the debate about tattoos and saw it was 'The Sun', I realised it was just another hysterical troll session.

Arguably what exactly does that rag know about art about as much as I know about nuclear fission - not a lot.

It always amuses me how people without tattoos are always so keen to jump on the band wagon of 'it's wrong, it's ugly' ad nauseum.

One of my colleagues is forever banging on about how much she hates tattoos as they 'disfigure the body'. I asked her why she wore earrings as piercings are a subtle form of scarification...

I just point to my sign I keep on my desk 'The only difference between a person with tattoos and those without is this. The tattooed person does not care that you do not have any.'

Take Care

Matthew

Personally, i couldn't careless about what other people think, because they are just random people. I think that if you are bothered about what people think of your tattoo's then you shouldn't have had them. Truth is, some people don't like tattoo's and thats their choice of course, but as long as you like them & have an interest in them, then it doesn't matter what other people think. People have to learn to accept each other, regardless of any difference there is between each other. :)
